Steinmetz Jumbo

(c) Steinmetz Automobiltechnik

This page is dedicated to the Commodore B "Jumbo" from Steinmetz Automobiltechnik GmbH, which attracted a lot of attention in its short life.
6/1973 first used by Steinmetz. Initially with modifications that corresponded to the successful predecessor Commodore A, only a short time later its transformation into a "Jumbo" with huge front and rear wings and a 6 liter V8 followed.
His appearance at the Academic in Hockenheim in 11/1973 was just as surprising as his mysterious disappearance towards the end of 1975.

Many thanks to Oliver Steinmetz for patiently answering my questions and to Thomas Ölherz for supporting research and program booklets.

Much of the information on this page comes from the book
"Klaus Steinmetz - Ein Leben für den Motorsport" by Klaus and Oliver Steinmetz
I would like to particularly recommend this at this point!
